The Holiday Crush

I am completely consumed with the Holiday Crush of events. More posts are coming soon to catch up on various topics and trips, but they keep slipping away amid our hectic social calendar. There are a few things I don't want to forget though, so I am writing them down. Here are some things heard/seen around here recently:

We celebrated Halloween on base and took the base bus home. As we got on the bus Enoch walked right up to the bus driver and gave her a piece of candy from his bucket. He sat down next to me and sweetly said, "because she didn't get to go trick-or-treating".

Enoch: Mom, do you know what I want for Christmas?
Me: No
Enoch: Love (said in complete sincerity)

We went to a holiday part last week and Santa came. Enoch knows it was a man in a suit, he loved it anyway. And he has been begging me to buy a present for Santa ("the one from the Pavilion" - where the party was at). So I am adding that to our to-do list.

Every time we are in the car, Phinn reaches out his little hand to Hilde's and they hold hands. Everywhere. And sometimes he reaches up and pulls her head down so he can kiss her.

The other day Phinn accidentally hurt me and I spontaneously cried. I looked up and Hilde was in complete tears, and wanted to know how she could help.

Hilde tries to sit next to Phinn at the dinner table so that she can help him eat, pick up things he drops, and comfort him when he needs it.

I catch Hilde and Enoch helping each other with things all the time. Those moments are precious.

In the midst of all the rush, I just want to remember what wonderful kids I have - they, and Dave, are all I really need for Christmas.

What are some things you want to remember about this Christmas season?

I love this post Michelle. Sometimes I think it's all in what we look for. They really are precious and good - and those are such sweet and pure sentiments you've recorded. Thanks for the reminder - how blessed we are to have a family.

Hey!!! I tried commenting back on Facebook with our blog address but for some reason it wasn't working. But, leaving a comment may work. Let me know.
Sounds like everything is going good. I am totally jealous of all the fun places you have been able to visit since living in England!!
