Grocery Shopping

I think I mentioned before that English grocery stores have several varieties of shopping carts (or trolleys as they are called here). Enoch loves going to either Sainsbury's or Asda, because he can ride in the cart with Phinn. He begs for it, he loves it so much. Then he smothers Phinn with more attention than the little guy can handle. Or he sits still and lets Phinn pull on his ear in complete contentment. But when they look like this, shopping is a breeze.

First of all, aren't you in Germany right now???

But next, I am glad that you enjoy your grocery shopping experiences. Claire now insists on me carrying her while I do my shopping. Even the car carts aren't good enough for her. I was reminded once again yesterday that I really can not take the kids with me. It's not that they are bad per se, it's that they are demanding my attention and they make shopping a miserable experience! But, they just got carts that have TVs in them for the kids to watch. Maybe that will help, but I doubt it.

What a cute picture. My kids love sitting next to each other if they get a chance, but they are mostly too big unless they have a huge bulky cart.

It makes me sad that stores here now have a bunch of tv's to entertain adults. Ads play in the checkout lines at Albertson's and it is just one more way to make my kids, want things they don't need.

I just got a new grocery list pad, and on the back of the list are things to do with your kids while shopping to keep them happy. From looking for colors, letters, or numbers to rhyming or guessing games, it has made my shopping easier when it is just Olivia and I.

Ooh, Liss, the list with ideas to entertain kids on the back sounds great. Where did you find it? And is the actual grocery list part good? I use the RealSimple grocery list from Target, and love it. But if there is something better out there, I would love to know.

Christina - I was in Germany when I posted this. It was the first time I had some spare time on my hands, alone in my hotel room. I came prepared with things I wanted to get done.
