Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone, from the world's cutest bear, skeleton pirate and witch. I hope you got more treats than tricks!

Green egg salad sandwiches ----- YUCK!

For those of you wondering, that is not Dave in that costume. This was at the base Halloween carnival and I have no idea who was actually in the suit, all I know was how incredibly excited Enoch was to see him!
Some pretty awesome face painting.

Phinn is conked out in the baby Bjorn, but the other two are super excited to be trick or treating.

Three Months!

Three months old already. This month Phineas has really been focusing on hand play. He worked all month to finally find his thumb regularly, and he is pretty good at it now. He is smiling bigger and bigger each day and is ready to burst out in loud laughs here pretty soon. For now we get more gurgles, squeals, and limbs pumping in uncontrollable excitement. He is starting to develop some fun facial expressions. We love having him around.

Middleham Castle

For Dave's birthday this year, he planned a family outing of things he wanted to do or see. The first stop was Middleham Castle, about 90 minutes from our house. King Richard III grew up there, and his only child was born and died there. So much history surrounds us. It was in ruins, but still very awesome. We had a lot of fun exploring it. Afterwards we went to Brymor to get some fabulous ice cream. Hilde has decided that she is a big fan of mint chocolate chip now so she got that and Enoch only wants pure chocolate. Dave had raspberry cheesecake and black cherry whim wham (you'll have to go there to taste it yourself) and I got a praline pecan and a fudge brownie scoop. Can you say delicious??? Here are some pictures of the castle.

Quotables

Setting: Dinner. Hilde and Enoch are asking questions about when they were babies, a common theme around here these days. Hilde remembers eating sweet potato puffs when Enoch was a baby and she would steal some.

H: "Daddy, did I eat puffs when I was a baby?"
D: "Yes, you did"
H: "Did I like them?"
D: "Yes, you really loved them."
H: "Did you like puffs when you were a baby?"
D: "No, they didn't have puffs when I was a baby."
H: "Oh, that must have been in the Victorian times."

I tried very hard not to laugh, but a few giggles escaped. Since Hilde is studying the Victorian era in history, I am sure I will soon be told a similar line. But for now, there are a lot of discussions between Dave and I ending in "oh, that must have been the Victorian times".

September Days

August was crazy busy, September wasn't any slower. Here are some pictures of my parents visit and other September days.

We visited a steam engine and old car show with my folks. This car should fit all of us for a long comfortable drive...
Phinn keeps getting cuter by the minute.

Two of my very favorite boys.

Strike a pose

Right after Enoch's pre-school graduation we had to run over and watch Hilde in her fashion show. She had been excited for weeks. She designed the clothes made out of black garbage bags and felt and an older girl helped her made it. I was really impressed that she had done all of the concept drawings. We were so proud of her. She did an outstanding job and was an amazing catwalker. She was a little shy when she had to stop and pose, but I think you will agree that she was super cute.

Two Months Old

On September 20, 2009, Phineas was two months old. Time has surely flown by. He is getting bigger, stronger, cuter and happier each day. At two months he is starting to recognize voices and turn to look at you. He loves it when his brother and sister lavish attention on him. He sleeps well through the night waking up only once or twice to be fed and going immediately back to sleep. He will sometimes grasp your finger or hair and hold onto it with all his strength. He does a loud high pitched squeal to show his excitement and we look forward to hearing his laughter. When he went in to get his shots on September 24th, he weighed it at 13 pounds 8 ounces, we love his little rolls. He was 23 and a half inches long and his head was 40 centimeters in circumference. Everyone agrees that he is strong and beautiful. We adore him.
