Commercial Madness

Since we moved here and started watching British TV, we are constantly surprised at who we see in commercials here. For some reason there is a stigma of being in commercials in the US, but overseas is fair game. Just the last couple of nights I have seen the following people featured in commercials: Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Hilary Swank, Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaghey, Anne Hathaway, Andie Macdowell, Penelope Cruz, Reese Witherspoon and countless others. Almost all of them are advertising perfumes. So my question is, are any of these commercials airing in the States? And, who knew there were so many types of perfumes around??

Interesting, I haven't seen any, but I don't watch tv much.

I've seen Andie, Ann, Charlize, Nicole, Penelope and Reese all doing perfume or cosmetics. None of the guys, though. Maybe it's just the shows I watch? But those are highly high profile guys, I wouldn't expect to see them doing fragrances. Strange.

None of these are advertising perfumes in the States! That's so funny!

George Clooney's is probably the cheesiest, his is for some brand of instant coffee. I think the rest are all perfumes. The guys are all in a sexy half dressed look, I am not complaning.

I want to know if you liked the movie "Burn After Reading" and also how was your Thanksgiving?

We didn't like Burn After Reading. It was by the Coen brothers (I think I spelled that right). They have a different sense of humor, sometimes I think they are hilarious, and sometimes I don't. It was really crude and offbeat enough to be too weird at times. We may have walked out if we weren't there with friends. Thanksgiving was a blast, food was delicious and the company was fantastic.

I have to admit I don't care for the half-dressed look in guys. Some of those girls, though ...
