On my sister's advice, I just finished reading All Creatures Great and Small. It was written by a Veterinarian that practiced in North Yorkshire, which is where we live. I loved it. There was a lot of gory vet stuff, but the people, places, and animals were all what we have come to see and expect here. Highly recommended for light reading. Short, easy chapters for those of us who can only string together a few minutes of reading at a time!

Shells - I am glad you liked it. I have not seen it, but after reading the book I learned that the BBC had a mini series call "All Creatures Great and Small" that is now on DVD. I just ordered it from my library here. Happy Reading.

It was a favorite book of Grandpa Younce, who had a large and small animal practice at about the same time- horses were work animals and cows were the livlihood of many families. He enjoyed the series, as have we.

My father liked the book and laughed a lot as he read it. He said nearly everything in it had also happened to him.
