There is nothing in the world that Phineas loves more than horses. We will never know what started the fascination, but it has endured. When we booked our trip to Massanutten, we knew that there were some pony rides available. Dave then found out that an old acquaintance from High School actually worked at a horse ranch right next to the resort. Instead of a 2 second pony ride around a dinky oval stable, we were able to come to this nice horse ranch and get a nice long ride. Phinn was in heaven. As we drove up he pointed to the biggest, blackest horse in the place and yelled - THAT'S MY HORSEY! The actual horse he rode was named Tucker, a sweet older horse with a gentle personality. While the other kids were nervous initially, Phinn was completely fearless. I mean, remember, every horse is in actuality his horse. I love this kid. He can be wild, but he is also wonderful.
Here Phinn is getting ready to jump on Tucker. He looked so dang cute in the helmet. It almost makes me want to check out the price for horse riding lessons locally.
This is the winning smile that makes my heart melt.
At one point Tucker had a bug on his belly and got a little jumpy. They pulled Phinn off while they got Tucker fixed up. Then they put Phinn back on to finish the ride. Phinn was non-plussed. Look how happy he is just to be near Tucker.
Freya didn't get a ride this time around, but I had fun snuggling with her and cheering all the kids on. She is a whole lot of fun to hold.

Stop it. They're all growing up WAY too fast! But what an awesome opportunity. Looks like you enjoyed every bit of it! xo
