Lost Tooth

For those of you who don't read Dave's blog, on Monday, August 11th, Hilde lost her first tooth. It had been in the works for days, but she was convinced it was waiting for her birthday (the 13th) to fall out. I went to pick her up from the School Aged Program (SAP - aka daycare for older kids) after work. As I walked in the front door one of the teachers ran up to me and said, "Hilde had us so worried - we tried to call you." That is my least favorite greeting. They proceeded to tell me in cautious tones that Hilde's tooth fell out but that they couldn't find it. They looked for two hours and are convinced she ate it. They know it fell out while she was eating, but it was nowhere to be found. They were all worried how I would react about not having her first lost tooth.....I was fine. This picture above is all I need.

She was super excited and proudly shows everyone her gap. The tooth fairy brought her 2 pound sterling coins worth about $4. We took her to the grocery store the next day where she picked out a coloring book. She gave the cashier the book and money herself and was ecstatic. She is growing up way too fast.
