Edinburgh, Scotland

We spent about a day and a half in Edinburgh. I think we all agree that it would have been a lot of fun to spend more time there and I know that our family is planning return visits. Yet again it was freezing cold, but we did so much walking we mostly kept warm.
Hilde trying to keep warm wearing my hat, scarf and gloves. She had left hers behind at school.
Enoch occasionally convinced grandpa to let him take a ride.
On our way to the castle.
Just inside the castle walls. Lots to go see and do.
Enoch loves the story, Drummer Hoff Fired it Off!, so here he is practicing. There were a LOT of cannons all over the place. Pretty cool for all the boys.
View from the castle. It was on the highest point in Edinburgh. So not only was it cold, but it was also pretty windy. Enoch calls wind like that, a windy party.
Just his size.
This was the hugest cannon I had ever seen.
After the castle we walked over the National Museum of Scotland. There was a lot of exhibits, of which we saw a small portion. The kids loved all of the interactive things they had for them. This catapult kept them busy for at least 30 minutes. We had to pull them away from it!
Hilde tried on this costume there. She is hugging the wall because to her left are Japanese tourists trying on dresses as well. They wanted to take their pictures with Hilde because they thought she was so cute, but she was too shy.
Since she was a little Hilde has been a tiger. So she was really excited to take a picture with this stuffed mom and baby. Hard to tell, but she is growling at you.
This robot would spell anything you typed in. Hilde had it spell her name several times.
Here Enoch and Hilde are generating energy. They lit up a light bulb, turned on a radio, and a TV. It was really fascinating to them.
Here you turned the blue wheel to generate enough energy to turn a yellow light on. Once it was on you pushed a button to launch the rocket. I think we may have sat there all day if the museum wasn't closing.
Isaac loved test driving this car.
Finally, before leaving Edinburgh we bought Dave a nice kilt (it is being made - expect pictures after we actually get it in February) and Hilde a skirt and sporran. The skirt is too big for her for a little while, but she loves it.

Anybody else want to go to Scotland with us???

So...how serious are you about wanting people to come visit? Adam and I are getting the travel bug again.
