Every other year the Younce family tries to get together for a family reunion. The last one was held the weekend after we moved back from England, which seems like it happened yesterday and ages ago at the same time. This year Dave and his sister were in charge, but I volunteered to spearhead Dave's portion. Planning vacations is way more fun for me than Dave. He did contribute a lot of great ideas, and I handled a lot of the logistics. First off, we decided to see if we could gather up enough timeshare weeks (which many extended and near family members inherited from Dave's grandparents) to get 5 units for the same week at Massanutten Resort. Massanutten is in southern Virginia, and while it isn't conveniently located for everyone, all of the kids had spent some time there in their own childhoods. Plus we had gone recently and had a fabulous time. After a lot of maneuvering, the weeks were secured. A whole week of family fun time, with cousins, awesome!
Check-in time was after 4:00 on Saturday. That meant Day 1 was really all travel and unpacking time. We got five condos all in a row, and Dave's mom made little plaques to hang out front to denote who was where. While the parents were moving bags into the condos, the kids had fun running around.
