Cruise - Day 1

Wednesday was the MUCH waited for day. We boarded the Disney Magic shortly before 2:00 in the afternoon. We checked out our room and immediately fell in love with the Verrandah, wouldn't you? The views were amazing and the fresh air and slightly more room was fantastic. It turned out to be a life saver at times as 10 days in tight quarters can be...too tight. We took a quick dip in the pool before the emergency exercise where we all (including Phinn) had to put on our life jackets and go to our emergency gathering point. At dinner we met some of our favorite people on the ship, Melroy and Garfield. They were our servers throughout the cruise and they were fabulous. They played with the kids, cut our meet when our hands were full with babies, brought us something different if we didn't like our feed, and always made sure the kids food came quickly. We loved them. And it was fun that we sat with two other families we knew, and were apparently given the prime table location. The Disney characters always came to our table first and we had great views of all the shows. In fact, we found out later that several other people had requested our table as it is recognized as being the best one available. Somebody had good luck! After dinner we watched our first show and checked out the kids clubs before heading to bed. Let the excitement begin!

Napkin hats made for each of us by Garfield.
