The Maryland Renaissance Festival is something Dave and I have tried to go to most summers. Both Hilde and Enoch have gone at around 6 weeks of age. This is the only place where grown-ups can get all dressed up and still fit in. Some people should put more clothes on, but that is the price of allowing grown-ups to dress up I guess. This year we went with Dave's sister and her family and it was a lot of fun. The kids loved dancing to the music, running around, playing on the little playground, riding the ponies, and watching the jousting. The grown-ups also enjoyed watching a couple of the comedy acts and the glassblowing demonstration. I can't wait to go again next year. Here are some pictures:
Phinn is completely enthralled with horses. We walked right by the pony rides and hardly noticed them because there was line. Let me repeat, NO LINE. As soon as I figured that out, we all ran over to get in our ride before the masses. Almost before we were done a long line had formed. I was so glad we snuck in before the crowd because we would have been stuck in that line for Phinn. he was in heaven.
A condition of going to the Renaissance festival was that Dave had to wear his kilt. It is an awesome kilt we bought in Edinburgh, Scotland, but there are not a whole lot of places he can wear it too. So here he is:
And now for the main event-----the Joust!

I think Dave can wear his kilt to church.
If we go to church in Scotland sometime, I totally will.
