When I married Dave, I married into a family with a love of food and an ability to cook way above the skill level of my own family (sorry mom and dad - but it is true). When a Younce goes on vacation, they come back and tell you all about the food. Secondarily you hear about the places they went to and things they saw. All of them are good cooks, with their own specialties and cooking style. These talents are showcased on events focused on food, making Thanksgiving something we were all really looking forward to. Because I was due with Baby Y any day, Dave's sister hosted Thanksgiving at her house and let us off the hook for cooking. Dave still brought his Gunsmoke Slaw that he loves and nobody else in our household will touch. Other than that, we were salivating over what everyone else was making. Dinner lived up to expectations. The cheese platter was yummy. The turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, and everything else were delicious. The pies were out of this world fantastic. When I looked through the pictures from Thanksgiving, I expected to see a bunch showcasing the food, but this year there wasn't a single picture of the meal. Instead, they were all of the cousins playing. And that was truly the highlight of this Thanksgiving. Look at these kids, they are al amazing in their own way. We are so glad to be home again.
